বাংলাদেশের বিশিষ্ট ইংরেজি দৈনিক নিউ এজ এর পলিটিক্যাল কার্টুনিস্ট মেহেদী হক সম্প্রতি তার ফেসবুক পেজে সমন্বয়ক হাসনাতের একচোখ বিশিষ্ট একটি ক্যারিকেচার এঁকে নেটিজেনদের তোপের মুখে পড়েছেন। “ফ্যাসিবাদের পক্ষে লিখলে কলম ভেঙে দেওয়া হবে” সমন্বয়ক হাসনাত আব্দুল্লাহর এমন কথাকে কেন্দ্র করে “ফাঁসিজম” শীর্ষক একটি কার্টুন এঁকে তিনি ফ্যাসিজমের পক্ষে অবস্থান গ্রহণ করেছেন। অবশ্য শেখ হাসিনার শাসনামলে হাসিনাবিরোধী কিছু কার্টুন এঁকে তিনি যথেষ্ট জনপ্রিয়তাও লাভ করেন। কিন্তু এখন তিনি হাসিনার পক্ষেও কার্টুন আঁকার স্বাধীনতা চান। যদিও সচেতন মহলের একটি অংশ মনে করছে এই বিষয়টি স্ববিরোধী। পোস্টটির কমেন্টে মনের ক্ষোভ ব্যক্ত করেছেন কিছু ফেসবুক ইউজার। যেমন: মনোয়ার পাটোয়ারী নামের একজন ফেসবুক ইউজার কমেন্টে লিখেছেন, “আঁকেন, হাসনাত আব্দুল্লাহ আপনার জন্যই বলছে। আপনার এই কার্টুন আঁকার স্বাধীনতার জন্যই বিপ্লব। কিন্তু ফ্যাসিস্টদের লিগ্যালিটি দিয়েন না। ফ্যাসিস্ট কারো জন্যই ভালো না।” কামরান হোসাইন লিখেছেন, “ইউরোপে হলোকাস্টের পক্ষে লেখলে এরেস্ট জেল আর ইমিগ্রেন্ট হইলে একেবারে ডিপোর্ট। সুতরাং সব স্বাধীনতা বাক স্বাধীনতা নয় এটা বুঝার ক্ষমতা থাকা উচিত।” নজরুল ইসলাম বলেছেন, “কেন চাটতে অনেক ভালো লাগে?” পরাগ মাহমুদ জানিয়েছেন, “ধন্যবাদ। বেশী বেশী আঁকেন। এটার জন্যই জুলাইয়ে আন্দোলন। আন্দোলনের প্রাপ্তি এখানেই। শুধু মনে রাখিয়েন কার্টুনিস্ট কিশোরের উপর অত্যাচার আর সেই কার্টুন শেয়ার দেওয়ার অপরাধে মোসতাকের মৃত্যু।”
বিষয়টি নিয়ে সচেতন মহলের একাংশের দাবি, কার্টুনিস্টদেরও জনগণের প্রতি আদর্শিক দায়বোধ থাকা উচিত। গণঅনুভূতিকে আঘাত করে- মন চাইলেই এমন কার্টুন এঁকে ফেলার বিষয়টিকে নৈতিকতার জায়গা থেকে আপত্তিকর হিসেবে দেখছেন তারা।
